ABSTRACT: Investigating the effects of early childhood education on digital citizenship skills is crucial for preparing children for responsible digital engagement. This study aimed to evaluate how early childhood education programs influence the development of digital citizenship skills in young children. The objectives were to (1) assess improvements in children's understanding of online safety, (2) evaluate the role of digital literacy activities in the curriculum, and (3) examine changes in children's behavior towards responsible digital usage. A survey design was chosen to systematically collect data from participants, providing a comprehensive understanding of the topic. A purposive sample of 110 children aged 4-6 years, engaged in digital literacy education programs, was selected to ensure relevant experiences. The case study focused on an early childhood education center in Abuja, known for its technology-enhanced learning initiatives. Findings revealed significant improvements in children's understanding of online safety, the effectiveness of digital literacy activities, and positive changes in responsible digital usage. The study recommended integrating digital citizenship education into early childhood curricula and providing training for educators to foster responsible digital behavior.
